I saw my first one last week (though it had normal sized wheels):
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I saw another one yesterday but without the side cargo boxes (I don’t think it had a roof rack either) , so it was looking pretty tame.

I’ve seen a couple around me so far, contemplating trying for a test drive this weekend.

What size wheels do these run? Looks like it still has about the same amount of sidewall as a stock Jeep.

It’s sitting on 18 inch. That’s the smallest you can fit because of the giant breaks needed to stop the 8200 lb’s it can tow.

Doesn’t rub with wheels at full lock so I’d say that’s a win.

Posting here so you see it - I will probably be ordering the plans for a SII Toylander soon. That is all. I will be looking at building a vacuform table so I can do repeats of some of the parts more easily, and I will very likely build a number of these in both 88 and 109pu/109sw versions.

Edit: Also what is the GVWR on one of these? Asking for a friend...

They claim to be sufficient capacity for an adult. However, I think the body panels are r outered MDF board, and as such. may not be of original design capacity if I use the MDF form as a blank for plastic . Counterpoint to that counterpoint, my modifi ed production would also most likely have a square tube stock frame and not be as dependent on body strength.
So the answer is “probably enough fo yo big
ass”

To expound further: my younger brother who has a project 109 has a one-year-old and another kid on the way, and the one-year-old will soon need something of similar perversity to the metalflake hot rod purple pedal car with real plated accents I gave his cousin when she turned two... and my cousin with the 109 and 88 has two little nephews (my first-cousins-once-removed) who also need at least one. Add that I plan to marry and have kids before too terribly long, and they’re semi-adultable, and that we’re friends with a guy who runs a local series shop who can probably use one...
All of a sudden, man, serial production starts looking like a very smart stupid idea.

It does indeed, I feel me rolling down my street with beer in hand to visit the neighbours would be a grand thing.

A possibility for power is, rather than electric, using chinese 50cc
GY-6 moped power packs - or it should be. To do it as easily packaged
as possible, these things might actually end up front wheel drive. Or they might just allow for
even 4WD.

Probably better idea than how we used to power go carts as kids, starter motors and car batteries...
